The name of this blog is WoW Homemaking. I am sure you are wondering what that is supposed to mean! Well, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I believe in something called the Word of Wisdom (you can read about this on mormon.org and lds.org). It contains important principles and guidelines for general health given as direct revelation from God through His prophet Joseph Smith. I try to incorporate the counsels in the Word of Wisdom into my recipes and daily life.
You'll notice that I like to use whole-grains and less refined sugars when I can. My gut tells me that God created plants the way he did to be nutritious in the way He thought wise. So, while I believe that grain is the "staff of life" (D&C 89:14), I believe that this means the whole grain, not just the part that we get when it has been completely processed. Herbs (edible plants) are consecrated for human consumption, but I trust God's natural design of those plants more than the processed or refined way that we often eat them, which is why I like to use natural sources of sugar when I can.
My name is Susannah Goldberg. I am a determined woman who loves to work, loves to bake, and loves to craft. My greatest joy is the Lord; He is my strength and my beacon in this strange and confusing world. My other joy is my family, who are my best friends in the world besides God.
The purpose of this blog is to display beautiful, practical things (including recipes) that uplift and enrich peoples lives. I hope you enjoy your time here and find something for you! Feel free to comment or to email me with comments, suggestion, and criticisms. :-) I am a terrible cook some days, a better cook other days, so your thoughts are always welcome!
